• Served in the United States Army June 12, 1942 to December 16,1945 in the Pacific Theater. 
• Retired from the Philadelphia Naval Yard in 1974.
• Retired to Tuckerton, NJ.
• He died on 19 Mar 1979 in Pottstown, PA - of Lymphoma.  
• He was buried on 23 Mar 1979 in Groffdale Mennonite Cemetary, Lancaster Co., PA.
• Walter Reiter SCHOENLY Jr and Eva Elizabeth HETZER were married on 29 Sep 1947.
